Fello Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 12, 2026
Last Updated: October 12, 2026
Fello is operated by HEY FELLO LLC (“Fello,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company organized in Utah, United States.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share information when you use the Fello mobile application, visit our website, or interact with our services.
We believe social media should be about the people you care about—not advertisements, algorithms, or endless scrolling.
Your privacy is central to how Fello operates.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, contact us at support@heyfello.app.
1. Our Approach to Privacy
Fello is designed to provide a simple, private social networking experience centered around mutual friendships.
Unlike traditional social media platforms, Fello does not:
Sell your personal information.
Display third-party advertisements.
Use your personal information for targeted advertising.
Track your activity across other companies' applications or websites for advertising.
Share your personal information with data brokers.
Use your posts, photos, messages, or other content to train generative AI models.
Use an algorithmic recommendation system to determine which friends' posts you see.
Generate AI-created content for your feed.
Your feed is organized chronologically and contains content from your accepted friends, along with your own posts.
We collect and process information to operate Fello, provide its features, protect our users, manage subscriptions, deliver notifications, and maintain the security and reliability of our services.
2. Information We Collect

When you create a Fello account, we collect or process information such as:
Email address.
Username.
Display name.
Profile photo, if provided.
Biography, if provided.
Internal account identifier.
Authentication information.
Account creation date.
Account status and onboarding information.
You may create an account using email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In.
If you use Apple or Google authentication, we may receive information made available by that provider, such as your email address, name, provider identifier, or authentication token.
If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, we may receive your Apple private relay email address instead of your personal email address.
Fello does not receive your Apple or Google account password.
Profile Information
Your Fello profile may contain:
Display name.
Username.
Profile picture.
Biography.
Friendship information.
Basic profile information may be available to other Fello users through features such as friend search, invitations, and account discovery.
Your Photos and Thoughts are subject to Fello's friendship-based visibility restrictions.
Profile Photo Visibility
Fello currently delivers profile pictures using publicly addressable media URLs.
Although Fello restricts ordinary profile discovery and does not provide public browsing of its avatar storage directory, someone who obtains the exact URL of a profile picture may be able to retrieve that image without being an accepted friend or signed into Fello.
We may introduce additional restrictions on profile-photo delivery as the service evolves.
Photos and Thoughts
When you create content on Fello, we may collect and store:
Photos you choose to upload.
Captions accompanying your photos.
Text-only posts called Thoughts.
Content creation timestamps.
Comments and replies.
Mentions.
Likes on supported content.
Information needed to publish, display, and manage your content.
Photos and Thoughts are generally visible to your accepted Fello friends, subject to account status, blocking, and moderation restrictions.
Photo-post media is stored using private file storage and delivered to authorized users through temporary access URLs.
Authorized moderators may access reported content and associated media when necessary to investigate reports or enforce our rules.
We do not sell your Photos, Thoughts, or other content to advertisers.
We do not use your content to train generative AI models.

Fello collects and processes information related to your interactions with other users, including:
Friend requests.
Accepted friendships.
Blocked accounts.
Invitations.
Comments and replies.
Likes.
Shared posts.
Activity notifications.
Activity read/unread status.
Feed and caught-up progress.
This information allows Fello to maintain your social connections, display relevant activity, and provide a chronological feed.
Fello does not use your interactions to create behavioral advertising profiles.
Direct Messages
Fello allows users to exchange private direct messages.
When you use Messages, we may store:
Message text.
Sender and recipient identifiers.
Shared-post references.
Conversation participants.
Message timestamps.
Message read status.
Conversation and inbox information.
Messages are available to authorized conversation participants through Fello's application access controls.
Fello messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Fello's routine moderation dashboard does not display private message bodies.
However, limited access to stored information may be necessary for authorized technical operations, security investigations, legal compliance, or enforcement of our Terms of Service.
If you delete your Fello account, messages you previously sent may remain visible in the other participant's conversation history.
Your identity in those conversations will generally be replaced with “Deleted account.”
Reports and Moderation Information
Fello provides reporting and blocking features to help maintain a safe environment.
When you submit a report, we may collect:
Your account identifier.
The reported account or content.

Additional details you provide.
Related content or account context.
Report timestamps.
Review and resolution status.
Fello also maintains moderation records, including:
Content removal actions.
Account suspensions.
Account restorations.
Moderator decisions.
Moderation audit history.
Authorized administrators may review information relevant to a report, including reported profiles, Photos, Thoughts, comments, and related content.
For reported Photos or comments associated with Photos, authorized administrators may access the specific private media necessary to investigate the report.
Administrative access is restricted, and sensitive moderation actions require additional authentication.
Some moderation and safety records may be retained after an account is deleted when reasonably necessary for safety, accountability, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
3. Subscription and Payment Information
Fello operates through a paid membership subscription.
Fello Membership is currently offered in the United States for $0.99 per month, with localized pricing displayed by Apple in other supported regions.
Eligible users may receive a 7-day introductory free trial.
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple's App Store.
Fello uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements and verify membership status.
Through Apple and RevenueCat, we may process:
Internal Fello account identifier.
Subscription product identifier.
Subscription status.
Purchase history.
Trial eligibility.
Trial status.
Renewal and expiration dates.
Cancellation status.
Transaction identifiers.
Information necessary to restore purchases.
Fello uses your internal account identifier to associate subscription entitlements with your Fello account.
Apple processes your payment information.
Fello does not receive or store your full credit card number or bank account information.
Deleting your Fello account does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription.
You must manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings.
Apple and RevenueCat may retain subscription and transaction information independently of Fello, including after your Fello account is deleted, subject to their respective policies and applicable legal obligations.
4. Device and Technical Information
When you use Fello, we and our service providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the application.
This may include:
Device type.
Operating system.
Application version.
Application build number.
Platform information.
IP address and network information.
Authentication and session information.
Error codes.
Crash diagnostics.
Limited application performance or operational information.
Security-related events.
Timestamps associated with technical operations.
We use this information to:
Maintain application reliability.
Troubleshoot technical problems.
Prevent abuse.
Detect unauthorized access.
Improve application security.
Resolve service interruptions.
Fello uses Sentry for limited crash reporting and operational error monitoring.
Our application is configured to minimize personal information included in diagnostic reports.
We do not intentionally send private messages, post bodies, screenshots, or other user-generated content to Sentry as part of routine error reporting.
Some technical service providers may process IP addresses or derive approximate geographic information from network connections for security and operational purposes.
Fello does not currently require access to your device's precise location to provide its core social networking features.
5. Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, Fello may collect and process:
Device push tokens.
Application installation identifiers.
Device platform information.
Notification preferences.
Notification delivery status.
Information necessary to route notifications to the appropriate content.
Fello may send notifications relating to:
Friend requests.
Accepted friendships.
Comments.

Mentions.
Likes.
Direct messages.
Shared posts.
Other relevant account activity.
Notifications may contain limited information, such as another user's display name and the type of activity.
Current direct-message notifications do not include the private message body.
Fello uses Expo and Apple Push Notification service to deliver notifications.
You can disable notifications through Fello's settings or your device's notification settings.
6. Photos, Camera, and Device Permissions
Fello may request permission to access certain device features.
Camera
Camera permission allows you to capture photos for your Fello posts or profile.
Photo Library
Photo library permission allows you to select images to upload to Fello.
Fello does not automatically upload your entire photo library.
Only photos you choose to upload are submitted to the service.
Notifications
Notification permission allows Fello to send activity updates.
You may decline or revoke these permissions through your device settings.
Some features may be unavailable without the corresponding permission.
7. Information Stored on Your Device
Fello stores some information locally to improve application functionality.
This may include:
Authentication session information.
Cached profile information.
Cached posts and media.
Feed state.
Pending invitation information.
Saved Photo drafts.
Pending publication information.
Saved drafts are stored locally until they are published, discarded, or otherwise removed.
When you successfully delete your account, Fello attempts to remove account-associated drafts, publication information, and relevant local application data from the device performing the deletion.
This cleanup does not delete original photos stored in your device's camera roll.
Data stored on another device that is offline may remain locally until that device reconnects, the application processes the account's invalid session, or the application and its local data are removed.
Ordinary sign-out does not necessarily delete locally saved drafts.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and maintaining appropriate security on your devices.
12. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Fello, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support legitimate operational needs.
Retention depends on the type of information.
Active Account Information
Account, profile, social, and content information is generally retained while your account remains active.
Photos and Thoughts
Photos, Thoughts, and associated content are generally retained until deleted by you, removed through moderation, or deleted as part of account closure.
Direct Messages
Messages may remain in another participant's conversation after you delete your Fello account.
Reports and Moderation Records
Reports, moderation decisions, and audit records may be retained when reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, legal compliance, or accountability.
Subscription Records
Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase and subscription records according to their own legal obligations, retention policies, and service requirements.
Diagnostic and Operational Records
Authentication logs, technical diagnostics, transactional email records, and security information may be retained for legitimate operational and security purposes.
Backups
Some information may remain temporarily in backup systems until those backups are overwritten or expire under applicable retention procedures.
Local Device Information
Locally cached information may remain on a device until removed by the application, cleared by the operating system, or deleted through removal of the application and its associated data.
We may retain information for longer where required or permitted by applicable law, including for legal claims, fraud prevention, security investigations, and regulatory compliance.
13. Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your Fello account through the application.
Navigate to:
Profile → Settings → Delete Account
When you confirm account deletion, Fello initiates a process designed to remove your account and unnecessary account-associated information.
This includes:
Authentication credentials and account access.
Identifiable profile information.
Your Photos and Thoughts.
Your uploaded post media.
Your comments and replies, subject to preserving independent content belonging to other users.
Likes associated with your account.
Unnecessary Activity history associated with your account.
Friendships and friend requests.
Blocks.
Invitations and associated account information.
Push notification tokens.
Notification preferences.
Account-specific feed progress.
Account-specific messaging inbox and read state.
A minimal, non-identifying Deleted account record may remain where necessary to preserve conversation history or references in retained safety records.
Messages After Account Deletion
Messages you previously sent may remain available to the other participant in an existing conversation.
Your identity will generally be displayed as Deleted account.
This allows the remaining participant to retain their conversation history.
Other Users' Content
Fello's deletion process is designed to avoid unnecessarily deleting content independently created by other users.
For example, a reply written by another user may remain when your comment is removed, provided its underlying post continues to exist.
Storage Cleanup
Uploaded media associated with your account is scheduled for removal as part of the deletion process.
Some file cleanup may complete asynchronously after account access has been removed.
If temporary technical failures occur, Fello uses a retry process for outstanding file cleanup.
Retained Records
Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary, including:
Messages remaining in another user's conversation.
Reports and moderation history.
Security and abuse-prevention records.
Necessary legal or operational records.
Subscription and transaction records maintained by Apple or RevenueCat.
Temporary backups pending expiration.
Local Device Data
Fello attempts to remove account-associated drafts and local data from the device used to complete deletion.
Copies of locally stored data on offline devices may remain until the application is reopened and the account's invalid session is processed, or the application and its local data are removed.
Subscription Cancellation
Deleting your Fello account does not cancel your Apple subscription.
You must cancel your subscription separately through your Apple account settings.
If you need additional assistance with account deletion or a privacy request, contact support@heyfello.app.
