Fello Community Guidelines

Effective Date: October 12, 2026
Last Updated: October 12, 2026

Welcome to Fello

Social media should be about the people you care about.

Fello was created to make staying connected with friends and family simple again. No endless feeds. No algorithms deciding what deserves your attention. No advertisements competing for it.

Just your people.

We want Fello to be a place where you feel comfortable sharing your life, expressing your thoughts, and keeping up with the people who matter to you.

To help make that possible, we've established a few Community Guidelines.

These guidelines apply to everyone who uses Fello, including content shared through Photos, Thoughts, comments, profiles, and direct messages.

By using Fello, you agree to follow these guidelines, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.

1. Be Kind. Be Respectful.

Behind every Fello account is a real person.

Treat others with the same respect you'd expect in return.

We encourage genuine conversations, different opinions, humor, and thoughtful discussions.

Disagreements are normal. Harassment isn't.

Don't:

  • Bully, intimidate, or repeatedly harass someone.

  • Threaten another person.

  • Direct hateful or degrading language toward others.

  • Target someone because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.

  • Encourage others to harass or target someone.

  • Repeatedly contact someone who has made it clear they don't want to communicate.

You don't have to agree with everyone in your circle.

You do need to treat them like people.

2. Share Authentically

Fello is about real people and real connections.

Whether you're sharing a photo from your weekend or a Thought about your day, we encourage you to be genuine.

Don't:

  • Impersonate another person or organization.

  • Create accounts intended to deceive, manipulate, or harass others.

  • Misrepresent your identity to gain someone's trust.

  • Use fake accounts to circumvent blocks or suspensions.

  • Deliberately share deceptive content intended to defraud or harm others.

You may use a nickname or preferred display name, provided you're not impersonating someone else.

Fello does not generate or algorithmically recommend content for your feed.

Your feed is made up of posts from the people you've chosen to connect with.

3. Respect People's Privacy

Privacy is an important part of Fello.

Photos and Thoughts are intended to be shared within mutual friendships, rather than distributed to a public audience.

But privacy is also a responsibility we share with one another.

Don't:

  • Share someone else's private information without permission.

  • Publish another person's home address, phone number, financial information, passwords, or other sensitive information without authorization.

  • Share private conversations or personal photographs with the intention of embarrassing, threatening, or harming someone.

  • Attempt to access another person's account or private content without permission.

  • Use Fello to stalk, monitor, or intimidate others.

  • Circumvent another user's privacy settings or blocks.

Before sharing something involving another person, consider whether they would be comfortable with it.

Remember: Even though Fello is friendship-based, people who can see your content may be able to save, screenshot, or share it outside the app.

Fello cannot guarantee that another person won't redistribute content they can access.

4. Keep Fello Safe

Everyone deserves to feel safe when using Fello.

We do not allow content or behavior that threatens people's physical safety.

Don't:

  • Make credible threats of violence.

  • Encourage or celebrate violence against others.

  • Promote terrorism or violent extremism.

  • Encourage suicide, self-harm, or eating-disorder behaviors.

  • Share instructions intended to facilitate serious harm.

  • Use Fello to coordinate dangerous or unlawful activities.

  • Promote the sexual exploitation, abuse, or endangerment of anyone.

Discussions about difficult experiences, including mental health struggles, are welcome when they are supportive and do not encourage harm.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Fello is not an emergency-response service.

5. Protect Children and Young People

Fello is intended for users who are at least 13 years old.

Additional age or parental-consent requirements may apply depending on where you live.

We take the safety of children and teenagers seriously.

Fello strictly prohibits:

  • Child sexual abuse material.

  • Sexual exploitation or grooming of minors.

  • Sexualized content involving minors.

  • Soliciting sexual content from minors.

  • Attempts to exploit, manipulate, or endanger children.

  • Sharing information intended to facilitate abuse of a minor.

We may remove such content, terminate accounts, preserve relevant evidence, and report suspected exploitation to appropriate authorities when required or appropriate under applicable law.

If you believe a child is being exploited or endangered on Fello, report the account or content and contact support@heyfello.app.

For immediate danger, contact law enforcement or emergency services.

6. Keep Content Appropriate

Fello is a place for sharing everyday moments and conversations with people you know.

We want people to feel comfortable opening the app.

We do not allow:

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content.

  • Non-consensual intimate images or videos.

  • Sexual exploitation or abuse.

  • Graphic violence shared to shock or intimidate.

  • Content promoting illegal activity.

  • Content that violates another person's rights or safety.

Context matters.

For example, ordinary family photographs, educational discussions, and respectful conversations about sensitive topics are different from content intended to exploit, threaten, or harm someone.

Fello may consider context when reviewing reported content.

7. Don't Spam Your People

Fello isn't designed for advertising, engagement farming, or chasing attention.

It's designed for keeping up with friends.

Don't:

  • Send repetitive or unwanted messages.

  • Repeatedly post promotional material to pressure others.

  • Use automated accounts or bots to generate activity.

  • Send unsolicited mass invitations or messages.

  • Promote scams, phishing, or fraudulent offers.

  • Share malicious links or malware.

  • Attempt to manipulate Fello's services or other users.

Sharing something you're excited about is fine.

Using your friendships to repeatedly spam or deceive people isn't.

8. Respect Creative Work

People put time and effort into the things they create.

Respect their work.

Don't:

  • Upload photographs you don't have permission to share.

  • Publish content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.

  • Misrepresent someone else's work as your own.

  • Use another person's image or identity in ways that violate their rights.

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Fello, subject to the limited rights needed for Fello to operate the service under our Terms.

If you believe your intellectual-property rights have been violated, contact support@heyfello.app with relevant details.

9. Be Thoughtful in Messages

Fello allows you to communicate privately with your friends through direct messages.

The same standards of respect and safety apply in Messages as everywhere else.

Don't:

  • Send threatening or harassing messages.

  • Repeatedly message someone who doesn't want to hear from you.

  • Send unwanted sexual content.

  • Share scams or malicious links.

  • Use messages to manipulate, intimidate, or exploit another person.

  • Attempt to circumvent a block through additional accounts.

Direct messages are intended for conversation participants.

However, messages are not end-to-end encrypted, and Fello may process stored information when necessary to operate or secure the service, respond to valid legal obligations, or address abuse.

Fello's routine moderation dashboard does not automatically expose private message bodies.

If someone is making you uncomfortable, you can use Fello's blocking and reporting features where available.

10. Respect Boundaries

Not everyone will want to connect with everyone else.

That's okay.

Fello uses mutual friendships because we believe connections should be intentional.

If someone declines your friend request, removes your friendship, or blocks you, respect that decision.

Don't:

  • Repeatedly contact someone who has declined your requests.

  • Create additional accounts to bypass a block.

  • Pressure someone into accepting your friendship request.

  • Use Fello to stalk or monitor someone's activity.

Connections should be mutual.

No one owes anyone else access to their life.

11. Report Problems When You See Them

We want Fello to feel safe and welcoming.

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it.

Fello provides reporting tools for supported accounts, posts, comments, and conversations.

How to Report

When a reporting option is available:

  1. Open the relevant profile, post, comment, or conversation.

  2. Select the reporting option.

  3. Choose the reason that best describes the issue.

  4. Submit your report.

You may also contact support@heyfello.app for assistance.

What Happens After a Report?

Reports are reviewed through Fello's moderation process.

Depending on the report and available information, authorized administrators may:

  • Review the reported account or content.

  • Examine relevant context.

  • Remove content that violates our rules.

  • Restrict or suspend an account.

  • Restore an account when appropriate.

  • Dismiss a report when no violation is established.

  • Take other action reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.

Not every report will result in content removal or account suspension.

We consider available evidence, context, severity, and the circumstances involved.

Some reports may require additional information before a determination can be made.

We do not guarantee a specific response time or outcome for every report.

Report Responsibly

Reporting tools are intended to help keep Fello safe.

Do not intentionally submit false reports to harass another user, retaliate against someone, or manipulate moderation decisions.

12. Blocking and Managing Your Circle

You have control over whom you connect with on Fello.

You can:

  • Choose which friendship requests to accept.

  • Remove friendships.

  • Block accounts.

  • Report inappropriate content or behavior.

  • Delete your own posts.

  • Manage your profile and account.

Blocking restricts interactions and content access according to Fello's existing blocking functionality.

It does not necessarily erase prior messages, interactions, or information retained for legitimate safety or operational reasons.

If a friendship no longer feels right, you're allowed to change it.

Your circle should be made up of people you actually want to keep up with.

13. What Happens When Guidelines Are Violated?

We want moderation on Fello to be fair, consistent, and proportionate.

Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, we may:

  • Remove a post, Thought, comment, or other content.

  • Restrict certain account functions.

  • Suspend an account temporarily.

  • Restore an account after review.

  • Permanently terminate an account.

  • Preserve relevant records for safety or legal reasons.

  • Refer serious unlawful activity to appropriate authorities.

We may consider:

  • The severity of the violation.

  • Whether the behavior was intentional.

  • The potential harm to others.

  • Whether similar violations have occurred before.

  • The context of the reported activity.

  • Applicable legal requirements.

Serious violations may result in immediate action without a warning.

Fello reserves the right to take reasonable steps to protect users and the service, consistent with our Terms of Service and applicable law.

14. Questions About Moderation Decisions

We understand that moderation decisions can sometimes be difficult.

If you believe Fello made a mistake regarding your content or account, you may contact us at:

support@heyfello.app

Include enough information for us to understand the situation, such as your username, the affected content, or relevant report details.

We may review the circumstances and take additional action where appropriate.

We cannot guarantee that every moderation decision will be reversed or that every appeal will result in a different outcome.

15. Your Account and Responsibility

You are responsible for using Fello in accordance with these guidelines and our Terms of Service.

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Fello systems.

  • Interfere with application functionality.

  • Exploit security vulnerabilities.

  • Use automated tools to abuse the service.

  • Circumvent moderation restrictions.

  • Use Fello to violate applicable laws.

If you discover a potential security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to:

support@heyfello.app

Do not exploit vulnerabilities or access another person's information to demonstrate an issue.

16. Changes to These Guidelines

Fello may update these Community Guidelines as our community grows, our features evolve, or legal and safety requirements change.

When changes are made, we'll update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.

Where required by law, we may provide additional notice of material changes.

A Final Thought

Fello is built around a simple idea:

Social media should bring us closer to the people we care about—not pull us away from them.

We don't need algorithms deciding what matters.

We don't need strangers competing for attention.

We don't need endless scrolling.

We just need a place to share moments, express thoughts, and stay connected.

So be kind.

Respect each other's privacy.

Share what matters to you.

And remember there's a whole world outside your screen.

See your people. Catch up. Go make more memories.

That's Fello.
